Fall in love, and let it flow from brain to emotion to hand to paper (or computer). You need to have felt love, and the pain of losing someone that you've loved. It makes for good romance!

I would start with more of a letter, than a poem. Poems can sometimes be so very hard to make rhyme, and a letter can offer so much more. A romantic letter can open another persons eyes to your heart and soul, simply by you sharing your thoughts and emotions. Compose it on the computer first, that way you can edit, rearrange, add or delete things. Remember, it is all like art, works in progress. Personally, I like to write romantic letters or e-mails when I'm in a perfect place, either physically, or mentally, for example, like when I overnight in Hawaii, and I have walked along the beach, with the moon and stars above me. My mind will wander to a certain person, and the words flow from there, describing the beauty of the environment, and then the beauty of my feelings. Mentally, put yourself in a place that no one else is aware of, almost like your own personal "happy place". Mine is high above the earth, in the clouds. Start there, and let the words flow from you. After your done, read, and re-read it, and you may be surprised what comes forth from you. Good luck, and let it flow!

First, you think of the person receiving this tailored made poem - if you dont have a person in mind - then you have to first locate the target receiver. The "most romantic poem" is always the poem thats addressed directly - uniquely - to the receiver - so you need a receiver to honour a poem "most romantic".
Next, once you have the receiver in mind. Think of whats special about this receiver, eyes? smile? body? gesture? what they said? how they did whatever? Zero in on this point and say it with as much sincerity as you could. Dont worry about rhyme or stanzas etc.
For example:
My love for you is like - the Great Wall of China...
You are the Apple in my eye...
Everything are great lines - if the receiver wants to be your receiver. So dont worry about the poem so much, its not the poem that will get your guy/gal, its the sincerity that will do it, but you could use a poem as an ignition point - so just do it, go out, be courageous and conquer!

When I write my Romantic Poems, I just sit down and write out my thoughts and I express my true & honest feelings! After I have finished writing them out, I read them. The very first time that I did this it surprised me, I was just writing & expressing my feelings on paper, and when I had read what I had written it was a beautiful & romantic poem! Here is a poem for you!
WRITING POETRY, IS A WONDERFUL THING TO DO!
IT ALLOWS YOU TOO OPEN UP AND EXPRESS YOUR TRUE & HONEST FEELINGS,
SO THAT YOURSELF & LOVED ONES, WILL BEGIN TO UNDERSTAND & APPRICIATE, THE TRUE & HONEST YOU!!!!!
GOD BLESS YOU!!!!

Yes you must write from the heart and let it flow on paper how you feel. U never have to show a soul, just let it flow how you feel on the inside--who knows, you may really get to know yourself or how you feel.
