Well, I think you MUST read it in its original language, Spanish, to really understand all the knowledges it brings.

Definitely and unquestionably the best book.....and centuries after it is still there at top list selected not only by the masters in this field....but millions of readers like me.....I am still fresher and studying english literature but still I wonder really what a beauty Cervantes had created in that period....simply wonderful....A masterpiece in every respect.

I read it in my spanish literature class last year. I thought it was good but i think it's probably the best book in spanish literature.

Maybe. John Milton's "Paradise Lost," Victor Hugo's "Les Miserables," Herman Melville's "Moby Dick" and Tolstoy's "War and Peace" are also contenders for the best book in the history of literature.
Of course, by " book" we are not including poetry or plays...

I cant stand the book or the play or the movie! I really don't see why this has become a 'classic'. I think it's just old boreing filth!

Not the best, may be one of the best. To say THE BEST, I should have read all the literary works.
