I don't want to hear your conspiracy theories or how satanic the lodge is. None of that is true.
There is a long history in my family of the men joining the Scottish Rite. My dad has my great-great-grandmother's Masonic ring, which will go to my brother when Dad dies, but I wanted to get a little something for my brother now. I'm an Army wife so there's not a lot of money available. I want to try to keep it less than $100. My brother is 26, if that helps. Thanks!

In most Grand Lodges in the United States a man can't wear Masonic jewelry until he becomes a Master Mason (3d Degree and the highest degree).

I would recommend that you get a lapel pin or a tie tack (usually $10-$20). There are some Masonic rings out there that might be below $100, but to be honest, most guys like to pick out their own rings.

When your Brother is raised to the sublime degree of a Master Mason, the Lodge will present him with his own Apron and usually a storage container (round). Some Lodges by tradition may also present a Masonic Bible (King James Version) which may be the "Family Bible" size or it may be small enough to take to Church. These Bibles are the regular "Christian" Bibles, but with explainations on how certain scriptures are used in the various degrees, how the Israelite Priests dressed and so on.

How about a plant? If he isn't one to remember to water it, buy him one that doesnt need much watering like a succulent. There are so many fantastic plants out there, some that flower, some that don't. Some that have scents, some dont. Some have coloured leaves, some green, some black. Some have bizzare shaped leaves, some that have simple shaped leaves.
My brother is soooooooo hard to buy for, but I bought him a plant last year & he just adores it. Remember though, think about his climate & whether he is indoors or outdoors. You can also get him an awesome looking pot for it. All of this can be bought for well under $100.
Just a suggestion. Probably not your idea of a great pressy, but they truely are a great idea. I liked the idea of the jewelery. Ebay have some awesome pieces up for auction.
