I don't want religion to rule the world at all. Everyone is entitled to their own faith.
Laws should never be made by "religion".

If you define religion as faith based on a deity, probably never happen, but if you consider Science to be a religion, seeing as it does have a specific method of approaching problems and is founded on elements that cannot be proven, only inferred (big bang, theoretical particles, dark matter), then I would argue one religion already does rule the world.

It would actually be very boring to have only one religion, even though I only believe in one, it would not be fun at all, because then we will not be able to compare things :)
