Just recently when I click on something to open up another page instead of opening up as a full page, it opens up as a small quarter page which I then have to maximise. How can i get it to open up as a full page in the first place ? Is there some setting I can alter ?

This can be frustrating. The URL below gives the best answer I have seen. It is from Jay Lee's HelpLine.

Also look at the Comments at bottom of the Jay Lee's article for other suggestions. One I was not aware of but I just tried it and it works pretty slick (as long as you open I.E. from the Quck Launch toolbar). Here it is too:

Posted by Michael Horowitz -- "If you use the Quick Launch Toolbar, then you can right click on the IE icon in the toolbar, select Properties and then change Run->Normal Window to Run->Maximized. Thereafter, any time you click the IE quick-launch icon, IE will open full screen. "

If this happens when you access the Internet and open the first page, try Maximising that page straight away, then closing that page, and opening up a new page.
This may or may not help, but it has worked with me in the past.

Windows is full of these quirks. Try dragging the windows to the size you want before maximising. If this problem occurs in IE there is a free utility to do this: I E New Window Maximizer
