For example I'm in my twenties and I live at home (I own the house) with my mom, and my cousins. I am big on family. I'm very focused when I work. I can't think of anything else. I don't know how else my Mexican heritage helped make me.

Well my case is a little similar to yours. However I grew up in Mexico and moved to the US at age 8 now I am 33 and my Mexican heritage has given the direction in life that I need. I am very focused on what I do, finished the master's degree. And care very much for my family. Cant eat nothing with out hot sauce or jalapenos haaahahaha what else, I eat tortillas once in a while miss the real tortillas from my country but oh well. I think I turned out pretty good been treated very well by my man who is not even close to Mexican hahaaha he is Italian I work in Manhattan and can proudly say that my Mexican heritage or foundation is what helped me be this woman that I am now and cant complain I am a happy camper. I guess I am always very optimistic and yes I pray to my Virgin of Guadalupe she helps me all the time. U should too ; )

im mexican american too! and my whole family is really family-oriented! we have family parties all the time and we spend a lot of time together! im 17, but my brother is 23 and he still lives with me and my parents! he likes it that way and so does my parents! they dont care that he still lives with us! anyway, what im trying to say is that a think that mexicans are way more family-oriented than any other race that i know of! oh and yes we are taught to take care of all our family members no matter what!

I don't see why you try to exclude non-Mexicans from this question. Perhaps this is a reflection of your Mexican-American culture? That would explain lots of problems Mexican-Americans seem to have nowadays.

No offense meant, just curious about this.
