I already asked this but I didn't get too many answers. Please answer... I'd really appreciate it.
I have a 12 year old daughter who's always under the sun and her skin is now getting pretty dark. In my ethnicity we're supposed to have very light clean looking skin but my daughter's skin is so dark and she has so much acne! That's not really a big deal but when we go to family meetings I noticed she's pretty much the darkest. Is there a way to lighten her skin without foundation or drugs?

Ok please stop the skin cancer crap. The reason she's dark was because back then in her old school she was required to sit in the sun. And I want to change her skin color because she doesn't like her skin color. She complains she doesn't look like her ethnicity.

keeping her out of the sun will lighten her skin, suntans only stay for so long. but, the color shouldnt be the worry... keep informed about sun/skin cancer. THAT"S the REAL concern about the sun exposure... the tan will leave, the damage will not do so as easily... if at all...

forget what kind of skin she is "supposed" to have. If she has dark skin, so what? And if you're worried about her acne, take her to a dermatologist. But, it's normal part of being a 12 year old girl, just let her be the way she is.

Wanting to change the color of someone's skin sounds pretty sick to me.

hi i take it you have had the cancer stuff til its falling out youre ears but it is true this does happen and im sure you as a mum makes sure she has sun cream on ......right ive fiinished with that one ,i get the impression that her tone of skin is really important to you and youre daughter,to be honest id start with the acne problem with a cleanser ,toner and moisteriser at night and do this everynight ,get her to stop with thesweet stuff and increase with the water that will improve her skin quite quickley ....as for the tone of skin id only use foundation at a push let me put it this way skin has its uses .....it stops all our inurds falling onto the floor and making a right mess !!??does it really matter what tone she has and if any family member has something to say then surley they have the problem ,i dont know how old this girl is but be proud of the skin you live in ,as you willmake a right mess on the floor without it ,enjoy youre life and live it to the full take care xx

What ethnicity are we talking about?

I answered you question.

This is not something you can fix yourself.

You can get stridex for her pores if she has pimpes but she may not react well to it.

You can cover her in sun block and keep her indoors but it takes years for skin to change to a lighter pigment.

Your best bet is a dermatologist.

They can bleach the skin and clean the pores, but they are the only ones who can bleach the skin. It can burn the skin if you do not know what you are doing.

Try to keep ur daughter in shadow first, because medicine cannot work when you keep on drinking ice water or having fun with ice creams.

First thing try to keep in a cool place, and make her warm then try to make light in colour.

All the best take care of your daughter

all tans fade unless you were born tan. i guess you can buy her a light foundation. but that will only cover her face....i've never heard of an ethnicity where your supposed to have light skin....that's weird, i'd love to hear more about it
