there are jokes about men and women and whites and blacks and spanish and asian and indians and short people and tall people... should they stop being that? they can't help it anymore then gays can. we aren't asking for special rights, we want the same rights. to marry, to not have our children taken from us if we decide to have them, to not be fired, to not be killed because we are gay. most people can take a joke, I can to. people saying "why don't we kill all the gays" or "gays are sick freaks" are not jokes. they are cruel and wrong.
you are the joke. you think that just because you come in here and mock us and insult us it will turn us straight? Poof! Still not straight, never been, never will be.

Let me make a few things clear. First of all I have never been ashamed of my sexuality in the slightest and never been ridiculed by anyone who is important to me in my life. Yes, people will ridicule the gay community, as people may ridicule ethnic minorities, people with big noses, people with short hair/people with long hair the list is virtually endless. The short of it is whoever you are in society whatever your beliefs are you will be a potential object of ridicule.
Second, who gave you the right to try and tell others what to think say and do? You talk about dignity and self respect yet you show none of it. What exactly are you so afraid of? Why, if you are so morally superior, do you need to make a rant about what you feel? Sure feel free to bully if you think that makes you a better person, but what goes around comes around and you'll get your just desserts in the end!

First, please get over the notion that people "turn gay." While there are certainly exceptions, the medical community has agreed (AMA, APA, AAP) all agree that most homosexuality is predetermined at birth.
You have made some broad assumptions about how other people feel about gay people. You know how YOU feel about us, maybe even how you perceive that your friends feel about us. But truth be known, there are more straight people who respect and fully accept us today than ever in the past. Those people may look at some of the "caveman" type of comments you've made, and form opinions about you. But I'd never say that everybody thinks you're an ignorant jerk. That would be an exaggeration.

How can a Christian be a Christian?Believing in all that superstition and bogus crap? How can a Jew be a Jew?How can a person be of another color? How can a person like vanilla and not chocolate? How?How?How?Why?Why?Why?
Stop asking and get over it.Unless you're in that group you don't know what you're talking about and so you need to grow up and leave it be.It is because people make fun of gays and because they hate gays that I know if given a chance I would turn straight. But after years of therapy and mental hospitals and even medications I am still gay. Some things can't be changed. And so now when people like you make fun of people like me I just look at your kind and think "how small minded".

First of all, "everyone" doesn't make fun of me or look down on me. The only people who do that are either uninformed and uneducated, or willfully ignorant of the facts. Either way, I have no reason to respect the opinions of such people and their opinions of me are sure not about to affect how I feel about myself.
Second of all, I didn't choose to be gay any more than I chose my eye color or height. Its just a part of who I am and that can't change regardless of what other people say or do.

Some things matter more than the acceptance of others; particularly random internet morons.
You're wrong about dignity and self-respect; when all the world is against you, only then do you find out how strong YOU are.
Some people will never find that though.

FIRST OFF, YOU ARE AN IDIOT AND AN A** !
I'd make fun of you if I met you because your head is up your tush. We are who we are. We deal with bigots like you every day and still survive. You don't change who you are because someone makes fun of you.
Personally, I think that the gay community should go after idiots like you- a reversal of gaybashing. Where can I sign up!

The sum of a true human being is to excel past the grip of their fears and short comings.
So next time your afraid of something.. and you chicken out. Remember those "ridiculed gays" that have just abit less time to think about being afraid for who they are.

What is the point of making fun of people for the way they are. I believe people are either born gay or straight, occasionally of course someone converts themself, but it is no one else's problem whether or not they want to be/ or are gay. Gay people have learned a lot of perserverance & things are beginning to get more liberal for them. "No one can make you feel inferior without your consent" -- (I think Elenor Roosevelt said that)
