Chris Rock joked that if bullets cost $5000 each it would counteract the proliferation of guns and gun violence in America. "There wouldn't be any innocent bystanders" was part of the joke. It makes some sense though. The scmucks in Arizona wouldn't have been out shooting people...they didn't have jobs...they couldn't afford $85,000.

Umm...Guns and bullets kill on average 35,000 Americans every year...the next country down the list is Germany where they average 65 per year. Stabbing someone requires physical contact...you have to look someone in the eye to kill them. The victims in Arizona were all shot from a distance...they had no chance to "defend" themselves. You are 80 times more likely to be shot with your own gun by someone you know (wife, husband, friend).

If bullets cost 5,000 dollars, a blackmarket will appear and sell a box of 50 of bullets for 5 dollars. Demand creates, and there's enough demand for bullets to assume such a maxim true in this case.

Nature finds a way. Honestly, do you really believe that? Do you know how hard it is to make a single round? Do you know how long it takes, more importantly do you honestly think that most people who commit crimes with firearms buy them? Wake up Jack, to a new century. Hopefully the one where this country stands up against it's government and demands it's dissolve. Or do you still believe all you hear on television?

Murder (and even mass murder) happened before bullets and guns were available. They still happen in societies where gun ownership is not allowed.

you do understand that , that is a joke?
One would only need to look at the U.K. and Australia, to see that where guns are taken away from law abiding citizens, violent crime does NOT go away....in fact, it increases by a huge magnitude.
Further compounded by other liberal/socialist laws that make defending ones home illegal and gives more rights to the perps who initiate the criminal act against said homeowner. (U.K.)
