In India, only the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) located in the cities of Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Indore, Kolkata, Kozhikode, and Lucknow, are legally authorised to award MBAs - which are Masters' Degrees in Business Administration (Management).
...Though several other Indian universities are also offering their 'BBA' and 'MBA' Degrees now, these do not merit either international recognition, or even any preference from the MNCs (Multi National Corporations) functioning in India. But, at least, they are Degrees.
...The PGDBM, which you will be getting through your Distance Learning course, is only a Diploma and not a Degree ! Obviously, it will not command equal respect - and will mainly be acceptable only to those Indian firms, which cannot afford employ either an MBA from an IIM (who will expect a fancy salary !), or even a 2nd grade MBA from the various Indian universities.
[Hopefully, there are plenty of such also-ran firms in India : But unless you can show speedy results in your work, they will fire you with the same disdain that they evinced while hiring you.]
....The IIM products get hands-on work experiences in large corporations, even while they are students. This gives them a definite edge, over all the other 'MBA's - who would never get such exposures.
Though it is not my intention to discourage you, I really wonder what sort of work experience you will be able to garner - while attending a distance-learning Diploma course.
These courses are mainly meant as 'prestige boosters' for the not-so-bright sons and daughters of Indian businesspersons - who could not get an admission to anything better !
These kids only require a few alphabets after their names, mainly to impress their not-so-very-aware 'customers' ! Or, perhaps, even a dumb future father-in-law !!
...You'll really gain a lot more practical expertise, if you worked instead in a regular job : And after you have acquired adequate reputation as an efficient manager, you'll find even the MNCs taking an interest in hiring you.
...But, since you would have already paid a hefty sum just to get admitted, I suggest that you make the most of what you've got : Try become one of the top-rankers in your batch, for that added credential will get you a slightly better market-value !
Best of Luck, Anjalee : You'll sure need it.

As someone who teaches both on-campus and online classes, I can tell you that it is possible to get good instruction in both formats.

The bigger issue is that any education you get, nomatter what the learning format is, should be from a place that employers will say is reputable. If employers haven't heard of the place, or know it to be "schlock," then it won't carry much weight. But if they've hard of the school and it's reputation is a good one, then they'll say you got quality training.

I personally don't know that program so I can't say whether it's good or bad, but you should definitely not waste money on training at a place that won't carry much clout in the working world. Otherwise, you're just throwing money away for training that really doesn't help you.
