hmm sounds like something a husband and wife wear lol....but seriously they are chains a prisoner wears during transport.

The only kind of ankle chains I know of are those worn by convicts. They're also called shackles. They chain the feet closely enough together so that a prisoner can walk, but can't run.

Ankle chains are like bracelets for the ankles and mostly women wear them. Sometimes, if they are worn with a really short skirt, they can look quite slutty! I wear 10. LOL

they are bracelets that are worn around the ankle instead of the wrist. Originally it was prostitutes who wore them with a long skirt, that way i suppose she could flash them at a potential clients so that he would know what she was.
Nowadays anybody can wear them, although the older generation still view them as jewellery for a Hussite!
They were in the fashion a few years ago but i haven't seen anybody wearing one recently.

Ankle chains are used to keep a person where they are or to simply keep them from running away. They can be tied to the floor or simply to eachother as in the latter case. Slaves and prisoners wear them. Slaves and prisoners wear them when they are in transport, whereas prisoners wear them bolted to the floor in solitary confinement.
