I feel your pain- There is really no way to avoid the feelings you have. But if you have the opportunity, make a joke about it. Say something that let's the delivery person know that you're so busy right now with school, work, and life that your house has taken a low-priority. This acknowledges that you are aware of the messiness, but it also makes you look like someone that is so involved with greater things that you can't let it bother you. Good Luck!!
Peace.

I'm sure that the person has seen many other houses that were as bad or worse than yours. You would be surprised at how many homes are a mess. I have seen some places so bad that you could not even see the floor throughout the entire house. also there was no place to sit down, all the chairs where filled with dirty clothes and the clean clothes were on the couch.

Realize that millions of people have a messy houses. Did he actually say anything. Does he know you like a friend? If it was that bad clean the house and order pizza again, or call them up to come over for a small get together or such.

Doing my room always gives me the feeling of tidying up my life. It's great. Next time you go to school you don't have to feel embarrassed if you did your best to live in a better place. This feeling will help you overcome your embarrassment. And you can invite some of your classmates for a Monopoly next Sunday, so they can see how neat and clean your home really is. But don't start apologising and explaining yourself. You want them to accept you as you are, and anyone can have temporary untidy moments.

Clean your house. You should be embarrassed. have a get together when your house is clean so that people will forget how tore down your place was. How did they see your house anyway, did they come in to deliver a pizza?

Your classmate was rude to say anything to you. But if your home embarrasses you so much, why not do something about it?
And you get over the embarrassment by deciding to ... simple as that. Don't give your power away to serve other people's opinions.

You don't have to feel embarrassed. By being (or not being) so will not make any difference to your friend. Neither will it change how your home is. Take it as a lesson and try to keep things in order. That will help you in disciplining yourself and will make you a responsible person.

don't feel so embarrassed we all have clutter everyone once in a while... I hope it helps to hear that we've all experienced that unexpected visitor right when everything is in dissaray. It happens and friends don't care about all that... they care about the relationship.. so if this is a class mate that is not a friend and your worry about what he/she thinks... truth me don't!!! You'll get over it.
