Seriously I ask this because sometimes I feel I lived in the time of the old west. Like riding horses and and living like in a small village like where Billy the Kid lived. is like I keep having dreams about that time frame. And when I moved to NY never lived there and when I got there the place already looked so familiar. Weird but true and I have been here 2 years and still some areas I visit I know in my heart that I had been there before. so any comments or experiences let me know I wonder if more people experince similar situations.

Yes, I have. I remembered my first past life recall about two or so months ago during a dream. I remembered I was living in India as a woman from another country. I had studied many religions and spirituality. I ended up chosing Hinduism as my religion to study seriously on my spiritual path.

While living in India, I studied under a woman guru. I remembered this temple that had this giant monkey statue on the outside. I had to leave the ashram for a couple of days, my guru was asking me some medicine-related questions if I was prepared and had them.

On the way travelling, I got horribly sick with a dreadful disease. It was smallpox. My entire body was mummified. A man carried me to the doctor's. It was not modern at all. Kind of primative. I'm guessing it was around the beginning of the 20th Century. He poured water on my body that was wrapped up in white cloth, I screamed like bloody h*ll. Blood seeped through the cloth. I was above watching the whole thing.

I did not feel anything, but I felt a lot of compassion for my past self and for the horrible suffering she was going through. I felt it was so unnecessary. They also put me against the wall to circulate my blood. My eyes were covered up too. My guru came to visit me as she was given word that I was dying.

My last words spoken were "Brahman of all things". I had my mind focused on God when I died which is very important for your next life. This life, I ended up feeling at home with Hinduism after studying spirituality and religions for 17 years. I am picking up where I left off. Amma is now my Satguru in this life. This past life recall helped me understand who I am in this life by explaining how I ended up on this journey and plus that disease helped wipe clean some bad karma. It was quite insightful.

There is a very interesting site http://www.johnadams.net This guy Walter Semkiv, M.D. had some some research on many cases of past lives and wrote a book called "Return of the Revolutionaries" which I have read. It is fascinating to read and there were many stories of how people can to find out who they are in their past life and became shocked at how identical the looked like in their former life. It is a known fact that our Soul would retain very similiar facial features life after life. There are many examples on that website. Take a look!

I also wrote two posts about past lives on my 360 blog, the first about the above recall and the second about how people look like their past lives:

Absolutely, there are old souls that have lived lives already, and there are new souls who are having their first go at it. there are more new souls now than ever because of the human population boom, but many, like you and me have already been around for a while. Old souls are said to seem older than their years, even in their naivity.
I have felt the same way as you about odd experiences. When I was a kid the word "oak" conjured up a feeling of white-ish, milky, nutty paste. It took me years to figure out that when native americans grind acorns to process to where they are edible, that is the result. There is no way that I could hve known that. Also, more often than not, your lives follow your nationality, for instance, I'm part cherokee and navajo. Just something to look into if you ever get more information. Maybe you could meditate in a place that seems familiar, and see what comes up.

I do think so. In fact I think that we have an eternal life. Not this body, it has an age and it will diminish. But human soul is so powerful and so pure that it will remain even after your final heartbeat.
Human mind is so powerful and it's imagination is so magnificent that when you read a lot, when you travel a lot, and also imagine a lot, it can actually make you feel that you've been to places...that you actually have not visited at all. Yes, it may be some knowledge of your soul that it has inherited through the thousands of years of mankind.
I'm a student of History, and the more I read, the older I feel, not in terms of my age, but it makes me feel that I was there when some war happened, or I was there when they were fighting against nature....
I think it's the feeling of our oneness with our forefathers and of course their blessings to us.

I see many answers here .. from radiculous to reincarnation doesn't exist..
wonder if that person ever gave any thought to the number of people on earth being the result of reincarnation. Many trying to get in the last experience of mortality.. To be able to work out one last detail????

Your experience is not an uncommon one.. just like meeting people who we seem to be very familiar with.. I would suggest (as I have for several) do a search on Indigo Children.. See if you fit into any of the categories. The last one I suggested that to said she fit all of them..Explaining her prophetic dreams to her satisfaction.

I don't accept the reality of reincarnation. Although in some cases it seems like a good explanation. But suppose a little kid remembers part of someone else's life and that's real. That still doesn't mean they *were* that person.

I think we're all part of one big life. All the other living things are like relatives.

I truly don't know myself if we have many lives, but some people certainly actively believe that is the case.

I think if believing we have many lives makes your life richer and makes you a better and happier person, then its a valid belief for you.

Unfortunately, just the one. The one you're living right now. Make the most it and don't pine for something that doesn't exist. It's just the brain playing it's subconcious tricks on you.

I once heard that there are more people alive now then have ever lived and died in the past (i have no idea if that is true). If that is true then it would disprove reincarnation - i think.
