Believe it or not some people's parents don't tell
them much about sex. They don't tell them because they don't want them to know or they're just not around to explain it or in some cases their parents asume they already know.
But I agree w/ you. Some teen women act like they're retarted when it comes to sex and pregnancy. That's why I think it is important
for parents to put their daughters and sons in separate classes that will teach them in a mature way.

raaj1111: Actually, recent study suggests that we aren't procreating enough to maintain a stable population.

Regardless of that... I'll admit. I'm guilty. Though my guilt was thinking that my infertility was permenant. I was infertile for quite a few years (by clinical standards of unprotected sex for 1+ years without pregnancy) so I just stopped worrying about birth control. After five years of infertility, I got pregnant. Then another year and a half I thought it'd be difficult to get pregnant again since it took me so long, but it was really easy. Though the second time we were just starting early, so it was half-planned anyway. However, I admit that far too many of these girls have no such basis other than probably thinking that it just won't happen to them. It's just stupidity. And yes, I'm willing to admit that even if I had a better basis, I was still stupid. But for goodness sakes... at least I was 22 and willing to accept pregnancy as a consequence at that time! These girls seem to run around thinking "oh ****, I got pregnant, I guess I'd better get an abortion." ABORTION IS NOT BIRTH CONTROL YOU FREAKS!! Sorry. Had to get that out. But geez... Get birth control if you don't want a baby. I know there are circumstances where pregnancy is a very real and true accident, or even forced on a person, but if you're not at least trying to keep from getting pregnant, just deal with the damn consequences.

Yes, they all understand

but at that age they are invincible, they can jump off high walls and not break a bone bcoz they are not fully grown and still 'rubbery'

pregnancy happens to the other dumb kids

the sexual pull is very strong bcoz of all the hormones etc they put in stuff like chicken to make it grow fast

they have all the desires and thoughts but are unable to cope with it emotionally, and they hear that it is the norm for 18-30 to have casual sex, even FWB

although by 18 most are responsible enough to be able to buy a condom without sniggering, the younger ones find it too embarrasing.

They know it, they just don't want to believe it. Even sex WITH birth control can = baby. There are NO forms of birth control out there that are 100% effective. Obviously if you think that birth control is 100% effective then you didn't listen to your doctor and you didn't read the insters that come with your birth control. It's really quite simple. If you don't want to make a baby DON'T HAVE SEX.

I completely agree !
Children having children.
WHERE ARE THE PARENTS THESE DAYS ???????
When I was younger, it was once in a blue moon the we would hear of someone being pregnant. And even then, they were sent to an " Unwed Mothers Home ". Now, the only solution they can come up with is abortion, or the " morning after pill". Which they should re name to the " morning after stupid pill ".
OMG !!!!! I just noticed the answer right before mine !!!
Stupidity is running rampant today !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

These women/teens/preteens need to know that if they cannot afford a baby they cannot afford to have sex, if they do not want a baby they do not want to have sex, if they have sex they can also get and STD or even AIDS.

They also think Yahoo is a hospital where they can come and get FREE medical care.

Young people, snatching unplanned sex in the back of cars or any location where they can get it, will not be thinking about either birth control or safe sex.

Many of them are not pregnant. They are having anxieties. "What if I'm pregnant" many of them know al about it, use protection, but still loose all the marbles if the period is 3 days late. Been there, done that.

I think I'm going to type up "what to do if you have anxieties about unwanted pregancy" and just past it every single time

Yes, I know this is way out of control... So many young women get babies and afterwards they want to kill them....... It's so wrong!!! These high schools should teach these lessons with very strict manner.

young women these days don't know because parents are leaving it to the school system to inform their children and the school systems only teach "abstinence only". parents need to take a more proactive role in their children's sex education because with the religious right ruling the country they will see to it that our young people stay misinformed and uninformed.
