Pornograhpy is legal prostitution. Why is pornography legal? Most will answer: 1st Ammendment, freedom of speech. It's acting you say? BUT I then ask you...is it legal to act like you're shooting someone and really shoot them? Is it legal to act like a junkie in a film but to really inject drugs? How can we justify pornography being legal? Isn't it just protitution? Am I right that prostitution is illegal if you do it in privacy behind behind closed doors, even if it's two consenting adults but IT IS LEGAL IF you do it in a room full of people with cameras and take pictures and put it on film and on the internet and publish it for the world to see? That makes it legal? Go figure. I think the U.S. Supreme Court ruled it freedom of speech because a bunch of horny old men (the justices) secretly wanted open access to it. What do you think? [By the way, I like to watch, it's just a philosophical question].

I think it's legal, because pornography you have to look up, thus your willingness to be subjected to seeing it. Though prostitution on the street is illegal, because I am not paying, nor wanting, to see that as I drive by. There is nothing wrong with the human body, and if you want to see naked women or men, by all means go for it. The act of sex is only natural. Getting paid to do it is up to the persons involved.
As for films and drugs, it is only a film. Not everything you see is real; you have to deceiver the difference.

Like many laws, the laws concerning pornography and prostitution across the world vary, and are also full of inconsistencies.

Probably, such laws should be written from scratch again, taking into account the real-world situation as it is today. That's not to say social and religious morality should be ignored, but it is also realistic to take into account the demand for pornography and prostitution that exists.

The reason that prostitution is considered immoral is because it allows people to have sex without committing to a relationship. Relationships mean responsibility, and people with responsibilities don't rock the boat. Pretty much all the moral norms, the things that we're supposed to want to do like marriage and homeownership, are ways for the government or the church to keep us docile.

It's all shades of gray, really. Adult movie stars do get paid for having sex, but the difference is that they aren't doing it with the person paying them. Sexy movies aren't as disruptive to a marriage as prostitutes would be.

You are receiving and believing incorrect information. Better check the laws before you start to pay for it. Many countries you could be spending the big house---and we're not talking brothel here.
