It seems like there can be almost no difference between wrs after the first big names are taken...
it's a bunch of "this guy could break out this year" or "this guy could get back to his earlier numbers"...

I mean after steve smith, marvin harrison, chad johnson, randy moss (who is shaky), TO (who's always risky), heinz ward (who's in a run first offense, maybe torry holt... there is no one that has been consistent for more than a year on the same team...

fitzgerald seems good, but he's still young in a questionable situation with who knows as a qb and a new rb... santana moss has randel el to compete with and really only played well for half the season... boldin is a question mark for all the reasons fitzgerald is and he was injured... chris chambers seems like he may be decent, but he seems really streaky... maybe burress, but he's 3 tds or nothing...

and then it goes to h*ll after that of a bunch of youngsters that have barely played or a bunch of senior citizens...

... driver is good, but is hurt as much as he plays it seems to me... chambers could be good, I'll give you that, but has a new qb... and brown only had a little over 500 yds and 4 tds last year? granted, he may have been coming on at the end, but that's hardly a proven bet...

next big bust-out receiver is michael jenkins with atlanta! he and vick have put alot of time in together this summer practicing and feel very comfortable with one another. any given team can win on any given day in the nfl. if all managers felt the way you did they would just quit coaching and say theres no use, i don't have any top receivers. try to be a manager and not a fan and study all the players and you may be suprised to find a diamond in the rough like jenkins. read up on him and vick. i won't say i told you so. and there will be a receiver bust out that knowone has on there team possibly. there are alot of hungry players out there waiting to prove themselves. take a gamble early it's a long season. get jenkins now before you regret it. good luck!

This is why many FFB drafters are saying lay off the RB's this year for a round or 2 and get the few stud QB's and WR's that are on the board this year. Comparatively speaking, the depth at RB is much better this year than the other 2 big skill slots.

A lot of questionable drafts I have seen this year have one thing in common, waiting waayyy too long to draft a QB. Most people seem to be clued into the WR situation, so don't go past RD 3 without picking one up, or you'll be left with the dredge you fear.

T.O. and ward shouldn't be up there. fitzgerald is a stud, he was good last year, now with a better line and edge to stop teams dropping 7 or 8, he'll be sick. chambers is gonna be decent with daunte tossing it deep, boldin maybe, but there are questions about edge taking away more of the short stuff that he's good at. and boldin is streaky, but when he's on he is ON! and after chad, marvin, torry, you have to look at antonio gates instead of a receiver, cuz he's right up there in terms of production.

oh and a sleeper, matt jones, a year of experience, a better running game, and leftwich in better shape and condition, seems a recipe for success to me

That is what makes the game a challenge. It is supposed to be a "crap shoot". When you find that one player that breaks through, that is what makes the game fun and gives you bragging rights.

Look at the Lions receiving corps. Who really heard of Torry Holt or Isaac Bruce before Mike Martz was the offensive coordinator of the Rams? Mike Williams may be that guy headed for a breakout season. Mike Martz is back running the Lions offense.

You left out a lot of solid receivers. You did mention Chambers. He'll put up numbers, but the QB situation is questionable. Darrell Jackson - Seattle will put up numbers as well. Don't forget Reggie Wayne and TJ Houshmanzadeh.. they may be the #2 reciever on their team, but will produce more than some #1's.. Joe Horn is another reciever that can still light up the scoreboard.

Get either Fitzgerald or Boldin from Arizona. They both rocked last year, and should put up even better numbers this year. They have Edgerrin James to loosen up defenses for them.

I'd say Derrick Mason could have a great season. He's reunited with Steve McNair and those two have great chemistry.
