Hi Moesha - "You Know She'd Rather Be With Me" was written in 1966 by Gary Bonner and Alan Gordon, and performed by them while they were in a band called "The Magicians". Then it was rerecorded by The Turtles in February 1967, and became a hit. (It was called their "1 Hit Wonder", but they had "Happy Together", "About You" and enough other hits to fill an album/cd, so I certainly would say they had quite a following.) Two of the Turtles later joined Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention. But Bonner and Gordon were first to record "You Know She'd Rather Be With Me".

The Turtles She'd Rather Be With Me

Some girls, love to run around
Like to handle everything they see
But my girl has more fun around
and you know she'd rather be with me

Me-oh-my, lucky guy is what I am
Tell you why you'll understand
She don't fly although she can
Some boys love to run around
They don't think about the things they do
but this boy wants to settle down
and you know he'd rather be with you

Me-oh-my, lucky guy is what I am
Tell you why you'll understand
She don't fly although she can
[key change]
ba ba ba ba ba-ba ba
ba ba ba ba ba-ba ba
ba ba ba ba ba-ba ba
ba ba ba ba ba-ba ba

Some girls love to run around
Like to handle everything they see
but my girl has more fun around
and you know she'd rather be with
Yes she'd rather be with
You know she'd rather be with me
ba-ba-ba, ba-ba-ba, you know she'd rather be with me....
