Here is a poem I wrote...

Three R's for you and for me!

When I was a lad at school, three R's they tried to teach.
Reading, 'Riting, and 'Rithmetic,
were among the subjects I was taught!

I agree it is important to be able to read and write,
but equally important, is knowing how to live!

Respect, Rights and Responsibility,
are the three most important R's.
We need to have them for ourselves,
and share them with our fellow man!

We each deserve to have Respect
not only toward ourselves.
Self-Respect its true to say,
is something for us all!
If we expect the Respect of others...
Respect we first must show!

Our 'Rights' are what we all should claim,
as being what is ours.
Before we can claim 'our Rights' though...
other's Rights we must respect!

We each have the Responsibility
to live as best we can.
To earn the Respect of others...
and be deserving of 'our rights'...
we need to live 'Responsibly'!

Personal freedom must go hand in hand with the acceptance of responsibility. We are in fact 'free' to do anything we want to do. It is just a case that we are going to be held accountable for our actions. If we, for example, choose to exercise our freedom by going around killing people, then we should obviously expect to be held responsible, and will need to face the consequences of our actions!

perhaps... and some are bashing on the "liberals"... but Conservatives must also play by the rules...

red states in the south have the highest levels of welfare in the nation... and I'm not seeing any actions being taken to change the current system by the Republican controlled congress/presidency...

and conservatives also need to respect the responsibility of free speech... and you shouldn't try to turn a graduation into a church service...

and even beyond that, I've heard A LOT of excuses for Bush's blunders... it's time to take some responsibility for those as well

in short, I think both parties have a way to go in the "personal responsibility" department... and both think it's ok to blur the lines on the issues that it deems acceptable...

I believe that I myself could say that being a responsible God Fearing Person I have the freedom to express my personal opinions and beliefs on the things that are yet to come to passed as my God say so! And I'm using my freedom to express what I've seen, felt, heard and experienced. Digz

Great question! YES!! Absolutely YES!

Many folks think "Freedom" means just being able to do what you want, when you want. That's SO wrong! "Freedom" means being able to worship and speak and live as we choose, and having the ability to earn the lifestyle to which we aspire... if we're willing to work for it! It does not mean a boundary-less, rule-less free-for-all of a society.. too bad some folks just don't get it!

Absolutely. The more freedom, the more responsibility. Now, wouldn't it be wonderful if all the people in this free country got it?

It'd be nice. -But not possible. Because you'd be denying someone freedom -by forcing personal responsibility. It's a catch22.

If one is a decent human being and take full responsibility of all his/her actions. Living by one's principles is more rewarding than personal freedom.

Alright...tell us the truth. You 'knock up' some chick.
