Aspirin is a blood thinner. The idea behind women taking aspirin to prevent miscarriage is that the blood will be thinner, thereby decreasing the risk of placental clots. It's OK to take aspirin during the first trimester, under your OB's supervision. I'm sorry for your loss. I hope it works out for you next time :)

I took Prometrium (200mgs.) from day 16 of my cycle while ttc, until the end of my first trimester when I got pregnant. I had a miscarriage, so my OB started me out on 100 mgs. However, after several unsuccessful months ttc, he did a laparoscopy and a biopsy of my uterus lining, which is when he discovered my uterus lining wasn't getting thick enough to sustain a pregnancy. That's when he increased my dosage to 200 mgs. I conceived that month and had a full-term healthy baby girl. I am currently 22 weeks pregnant. I took the Prometrium with this pregnancy as well. In addition, I started taking a daily baby aspirin about a year before I conceived my daughter and still do. It was prescribed because I had high cholesterol and to help prevent heart attacks. I don't know what significance it would have for preventing a miscarriage. My prayers are with you that you will have a healthy pregnancy and baby. Best wishes.

Always check with your doctor about any type of medications regardless of how low the dosage is..they might ask you to stop before you try to get pregnant again.
Keep taking your prenatal vitamins they will help you stay healthy... Get as much rest as you can and do not stress yourself out...
Your attitude towards the pregnancy makes a huge difference. Don't be nervous because of the miscarriage, My first was a miscarriage as well now I have 2 kids...
Always remember, if it's meant to be, then it will happen!!!

Well, you shouldn't be taking aspirin at all if you're pregnant - the only pain killer you can take while pregnant is tylenol. Aspirin won't prevent miscarriage. Talk to your doctor, and let him know you're trying to get pregnant. There's nothing that can prevent a miscarriage - a miscarriage happens typically because there was something wrong with the embryo, I.E. it didn't fertilize properly, etc. Just because you miscarried before, doesn't mean that you necessarily will this time. I hope it works out for you, good luck, and keep trying! :o) You'll eventually get to hold your baby. ;o)

Do not take aspirin. It may have side effect on the foetus. Keep your mind cool by reading good literature and lives of positive heroes and heroines of the past. Do not exert too much physically, as you had too many miscarriages in recent past which might have weakened your uterus. Have faith in God. You will mother a healthy and handsome child this time. God bless you.

Southern California Edison, our electric company, puts fliers in with their bills about the effects of EMF (electro magnetic fields) on the body. The scientists who have studied the effects do conclude that there could be a link between EMF and miscarriage. What this means to you is you will want to try to stay away from appliances that produce a high amount of EMF like the vacuum cleaner, can opener, hair dryer, flourescent lighting. God bless your journey.

A friend of mine, she had to take aspirin daily along with heparin shots to keep from miscarrying. It is a common treatment regimen. Good luck.

Ummm...........you're not supposed to take Aspirin while pregnant so I don't know what your doctor is talking about. Maybe that's why you had a miscarriage.
