Mel Gibson is a Christian. Jesus was a Jew, so he doesn't hate all Jews. Many of Mel's earlier works were filmed outside this country and many of his latr works he funded himself.
Also think about this. Early Christians, which Mel is a follower of, are upset that Jews killed Jesus (to the point they would kill the Jews), but Jesus rose from the dead and is alive under Christian belief.
Why should Jews get special treament? Liberals and conservatives bash each other all the time and that doesn't make the news (just the talk shows). If Mel Gibson ranted about Greenpeace instead, there wouldn't have been the fuss even though some died for their beliefs.

I don't thin that Mel hates Jews. I think that alot of Jews have come out against him after the "Passion of the Christ" was released and thought that it was anti Semitic and now they are probably blocking alot of his projects, one that I can think of right off hand is the Series that his production company ICON was doing on the Holocaust for prime time TV.. Perhaps Hollywood politics and alcohol fueled frustration are what is behind Mel's poor choice in words. He has apologized, and I believe that he is sorry.

He was drunk for one thing, I once told my brother that I hated white people when I was drunk. (I'm white, so is my brother) I didn't mean it, I had been watching a comedy on tv where the words "Kill Whitey" were spoken as a joke, I started spouting off how white people have no respect for anyone but themselves and how they jump to conclusions, etc. I was totally hammered at the time, and neither believed what I was spouting off at the time, nor did I remember much of anything the next day.
You can not blame people for things they say when under the influence of a mind altering substance, simply because it IS mind altering.

HE DOESN'T HATE THE JEWS! HE WAS DRUNK! Drunk people don't know what they are saying or doing usually, and he was in the same state the alchohol made him do stupid stuff. Mel does NOT hate the Jews.

Mel Gibson is a wierdo. Lets face it. Being racist is wack in itself. There is no way that someone says something like that unless they mean it. If you kill someone DRUNK DRIVING you go to jail and you ARE responsible. Wow, what amazing answers. The hard truth came out when he was drunk. This had NOTHING to do with the Passion of the Christ, lololol. He was raised this way. Although the Passion of the Christ taught everyone the art of torture and what someone looks like without flesh on parts of their body. If I wanted to see that I would have watched Faces of Death.
