No one can help you if you don't clarify. Did it import any settings from another email client you used to use?

Go to account settings in the tools menu and check your server settings.

Uninstall, then reinstall? If you do this, and if you have a mail folder in Tbird then locate it and put a copy in a safe place (desktop folder maybe)

I use Firefox for browsing, IE only for testing websites I build and windows update. I use Opera for testing websites as well.

For windows email: I love Pegasus Mail (which is free). I have used it for the past 15 years. Very reliable. Due to work and research I do, I have accumulated gigs of emails with their attachments - all which are easily found when needed.

Try the ever reliable Microsoft Outlook Express.
