I have to pick up a regular sized sofa from my friend about 35 miles away. I'm thinking of taking a Chevy 1500 pickup truck that my dad has. I have no way of measuring the truck or the couch, do you think it will fit??? I don't want it to fall out of the back on the highway.
Thanks!

IT will fit at worst the end of the couch that is on the tailgate end will sit on top of the tailgate in the closed position . This prevents the couch from sliding out of the truck. IF it sticks out beyond 2-3 feet put a red or orange flag on the end that sticks out. That will keep the cops happy. good luck on the move

Well Alex, I'm assuming that's your name, your idea is good but has several fatal flaws. After years of hauling ornate furniture into my honda ridge line I have learned many valuable lessons. First of all fast about a week before your stunt, don't eat anything, even ritz crackers. Then on the last day engorge yourself with mac and cheese and jello. The combination of these two staple foods gives you the energy needed for such a task. Don't poop though cuz that will ruin EVERYTHING. Now that you are ready to place the couch into the pickup truck you must gather a rope, hammer, car jack, rake and/or garden hoe, and a bag of ritz crackers. Place all of those things next to the car and snack on the ritz crackers. Then grab the couch and pull it into the street for better access. Now call home depot and have some migrant workers put the couch in for you. If they fail use the rake and/or garden hoe to beat them. Reward them with ritz crackers and drive your pick up truck (Suburu Baja) into the sunset.

If it's to short for the bed.Put a blanket over the cab top, tilt it up over it,then tie it down, and put rope in the back so it doesn't slide.
