I don't think it is a sport. I do think it is a competition. Chess is one of the best games ever. It challenges the players more than some sports can. Is pool a sport?

A game of chess can be compaired to life and different people for different pieces on the board you either decide to play or not
but if you play for fun yes it is a sport but it is like a big head game mostly or a lesson in how to program the mind the fastest LOL

Chess is the sport of the mind. I don't really now if it's a sport, because you don't use your muscles, and you don't move to much playing chess, but is good for you if you now how to play.
