You teach a baby sign language the way you do any language--you speak it to him. The more he "hears" it, the sooner he's likely to start understanding, then using it himself.

babies are always communicating with us; it's just about being able to tap into what they are saying. the best way is to get a book and start with basic signs and do it repetitively. they say at least 3 times before you do the sign do them, do the action or illustrate, then 3 times afterwards... at least 10 times a day. i am going to teach my baby to sign. i think it's a valuable tool for understanding them.

8 months is too young to start teaching sign language or potty training. Stop being lazy and change his diapers.

Babies do not usually KNOW that they are about to poop or pee until they are at least two years old, so they cannot tell you about it eiven in sign language.

I don't know. Whatever happened to letting babies just be babies?
They grow up fast enough, why rush them into communicating.
