Depends on your definition of "legitimate". "Legitimate" in that you can make money, yes. "Legitimate" in that you can possibly make as money as they say, yes. "Legitimate" that it's as easy as they make it look, heck no.
The way most of them work is like this: I'm selling something that's conducive to calling people and trying to sell over the phone. I get $10 for every one I sell. I offer you $5 for every one you sell. Everytime you make a sale, we both make $5, but you did all the work.
As far as making thousands and thousands: yes, if you make a phone call every 5 minutes and make a sale each time, you'll make $60 an hour. And if you do that for 12 hours a day, you're making $720 a day, over $250,000 a year. Yes, it's possible. Likely? Heck no - usually you'll make a sale once every 20 calls. But possible.
They say "work from home" as if working from home isn't really work - but making phone calls is as much work at home as it is at an office.

If I were you I wouldn't trust them! Most of the time they are just a marketing scheme.
