Sorry, can't go thru each and every part of it, but basically...
On page 1 of that fiction book (2 pages before the Prologue=part of the fiction!) Dan Brown lists under the heading "FACT:"
that there is such a thing as the Priory of Sion. That is complete BS. Look it up. The entire thing was a hoax.
Dan Brown got a lot of his ideas from the 'non-fiction' book Holy Blood, Holy Grail (that Jesus and Mary Magdalene had a child, etc) and that book used the Priory of Sion hoax as part of it's own 'evidence'. So much for 'non-fiction'.
DaVinci was a homosexual, which is a well known fact, and that's why Peter looks so 'feminine' in The Last Supper. That is not Mary Magdalene. Look at his other paintings and you will see that some other men are awfully feminine looking too.
Also, beware there is another 'non-fiction' book called The Woman with the Alabaster Jar. I don't recall the author but it was very popular for a while. She also used the 'research' in Holy Blood, Holy Grail as the basis/inspiration for her own book.
As I have told my Catholic friends, it is FICTION. All of it. And I enjoyed reading it!

It was supposed to be purely fictional. but does contain a lot of thought provoking premises. i enjoyed that book and movie tremendously. One wonders the existence of the Holy Grail,.
Was there a chalice in front of Jesus at the last supper table.
Was that Mary Magdalene on His right hand. Is she really His wife. Was she the real Holy Grail .from which the bloodline derived. Was the H oly Grail is just a symbol between man and woman. Did L eonardo D a Vinci really paint the Mona Lisa with a male and female counterpart. Where there really priors as keepers of the Holy Grail. Was the church that corrrupt. Is there really a secret society known as the Rose. Is the final resting place for MM real. Did Jesus designate MM as His follower instead of Peter. These are but a few of the salient viewpts.

it depends on what you mean by TRUE... the story itself is fiction... the characters are fiction. as for the other stuff.... the paintings and what is actually in the paintings is true. look at the paintings and you will see. as for what they actually mean... well, that's up to interpretation. all art is up to interpretation. much of the things that he says are fact.. are actually legends or myths. no one really knows if they are fact or fiction. things happen in the past and things were written down... but are they TRUE in the very sense of the word? Is the bible a true story?? that depends on who's reading it. Some will tell you that Christianity is TRUTH, and that is all that is true. But someone else will say that Christianity is a product of really good marketing. what do you think? so... was there a holy grail?... did Jesus have children? Who were the Knight's Templar?......that all depends on who you ask.

Christ exists; Mary Magdalene was a real person; Da Vinci was a genius, and was fond of adopting controversial topics, and sometimes hiding their symbols in his pictures. The rest is (probably) nonsense.

I asked myself the same thing. The Bible is a fake, a story made to help controlling. The details in painting and the other works of art can be easily verified. As for Jesus... in every lie there is a little bit of truth, so it is possible that he had actually existed, probably got married and had kids.

some are genuine and a few are fake. I never understand no remember if it is genuine or not that Jesus marry Mary yet i've got self assurance that it is genuine that throughout my attitude, Jesus is barely a man or woman and not a son of God. The Gos is the only god and Jesus is the messenger. so as this is the genuine area i think of. And approximately killing woman, i think of a few tale from different faith and worldwide historical past particularly state certainly one of those fact yet not very specific approximately it. regardless of if it is like genuine. And it is a brilliant tale.
