It's really hard now days to be anything. I can't tell who is what race anymore. Some days I pass for white others for black depending on how I dress and style my hair. Sadly enough I get talked about horribly on both ends. Blacks say I'm rich or stuck up.( I make 25000 a year not even close to rich) Whites say I pass because I am Fair skinned either way I am always casted out. I wish I was grey, I love that color.. naw but I love every race and I get shot down by the ones to which I belong to and accepted by all the rest. Is it because I am not the same as them/

I'm every other race and keep from total confusion by understanding that I can only be me. What is the first thought when you wake up in the morning? Don't tell me it's your race(s), political view or whatever secondary. Right?

I believe that all people are equal. However just because they are of equal importance and worth does not mean that we are all the same. I think that what the diversity quacks really want is to homogenize us all into one brownish soup. To make us all the same, in looks, likes and dislikes. That way we are easier to control. We make a better herd if we are all the same see?
But we aren't the same at all. We all come from fascinating and diverse backgrounds, heritages and cultures. The problem I see with America is that people are all too willing to throw their culture, their ancestry and their sense of being away for a quick buck and/or f*ck.
I am fourth generation Swedish American. My Great-Grandfather came from Stockholm when he was 18. He quickly learned to speak English and seemingly turned completely away from his culture. I was raised in a very "normal" white middle-class family, we went to church three times a week, my dad taught sunday school and worked for a computer firm. My mom stayed home and homeschooled us. Our culture consisted of church, the bible, and Superbowl.
Now, as an adult, I am attempting to reclaim my ethnicity and get back in touch with my heritage, and I feel that if I married a woman from another race, I would be hampered in this attempt. When two people from different races come together, one of three things will usually happen. Either both partners will have no idea or interest in their ancestry, and be "regular" American (their culture would consist of the Top 40, Mcdonalds, the Mall, and football), or one of the partners will have a stronger sense of culture than the other, and theirs will dominate the others, and the weaker partner will be assimilated into the partner's culture, OR the two will attempt to strike a tense and unnatural balance between the two.
This is not a problem if one marries into their own race, and marries someone who is following the same path to the same cultural awareness. For instance, my wife is of Prussian and Norwegian descent. While she is not of Swedish descent, we both share the same Folksoul, the same cultural language. We both honor the Old Gods of our People, and live by the ethics and code of honor of our Germanic and Scandinavian Ancestors.
All in all I do not think it is beneficial for the races to mix. . .not because I think one is better than another, or some such bullsh*t. . .but because I think that TRUE diversity, celebrating our differences, is important. . .but that said diversity will only remain if we keep the races from intermingling overmuch.

I am sick of it all. I think it's time that we realize that the world is a'changin and little by little the races are mixen. We all have attributes to offer in this world. Whoever's got 'em gets the job, no matter what background they represent. We should be treated as human beings first, and not seen as "minorities", or "white people" ( we are referred to as those names). Because there will soon be more colour on this planet than white. Seriously, the "races" need to get over the differences, and make with being equals. If it happens any other way, well, I fear the consequences.

Americans in particular really need to get off this issue of race. Put the descendant of a dark skinned American slave against that of a "white" American who's ancestors have been in the country just as long and I'm sure you'll see what more similarities than differences when the guy from Ghana walks in the room. Skin color is no more of a differentiator than hair or eye color objectively. It's just our own social hang ups that make the difference

I dont care about race. I would like to think that if people bring it up it is because they are just interested. Im sure your proud of your race so show it off. Most of the time I dont even notice race or color unless someone brings it up. Im so tired of everyone having to be 'politically correct'. We are all people, cant we just enjoy cultures and live on with our lives. Actually these days im almost embarrassed to be a white girl. I have a lot of backgrounds but im only seen as white and sometimes I feel left out.

Embrace yourself! You are the "answer" to why God created the different races in the first place! I mean think about it...-there's diversity in EVERYTHING around you. God LOVES the stuff!!! He couldn't just settle for the color WHITE; He created a rainbow of colors -out of which you can make even MORE- by mixing a couple of them together!!! Diversity promotes change, and the ability to adapt to it. And for those who can't adapt- the future looks bleak. So the next time you feel as though you're caught between two worlds- you ARE; you're going from the old one- to the new one where you'll belong.

Who really cares what someone else does? It's their decision to date outside of their race. You should look at it as your parents were braver and had more guts then other people dureing their time. Ignore what ever anyone else says. It would be gay as hell if we were all white or black or any other race. Then we would be like 1 step closer to lookine exactly the same as everyone else. Even if we did all look the same it wouldn't matter because people would still find a reason to hate. All this is is one person wishing they could be like you and your parents or they could change something about them and are jealouse because that other person has that color that they want.

All people are partially racist, in one form or another. The whites stole land from native americans. The blacks sold other blacks in the slave market and blamed it on the whites. The native americans sue when they dont have enough money to drink, blaming the whites for their addiction. Asians are money hoarders and are very shady. Mexicans atleast work, dont know what there sayin half the time but... I really dont care because their doing the jobs no one else wants. Every race has stereo types to them and they will never end. And to think, we all date back to the same race.

I think people need to stop focusing on race. A perfect America is one where we don't notice somebody's race. An America where each individual can contribute unique aspects of his or her own culture to the greater American culture, rather than individuals holding onto their traditions, with people refusing to adopt the American culture. The current mentality promotes disjointedness, and dissidence. People should no longer associate themselves with a race, but with America as a whole. The human race persecutes what is different, this is the stem of racism. If we were to assimilate and incorporate all cultures and races into one great "America," then we could truly have peace.

Well I guess that you've gotten the best of both worlds and that's cool. I believe that diversity is inevitable especially in the age of globalization where cultures are continually coming into contact with each other. If we go back into history we will realize that all cultures sprung from a previous culture. life is cyclical and so this process will continue and cultures and people will therefore continue to mix, forming new cultures and people. Maybe this is what is happening in America; a nation of many fragments from many different races and cultures. Maybe racial mixing will bring about one culture that is truly American and that will make you therefore truly American.
