.Maybe the guy who was kicking the dog was mentally ill ... Maybe he had some kinda problem that would cause him to act in such a messed up way . There are a few problems here . When you witness a crime no matter what it is you are responsible to report it . Stops the crime sometimes ,and also gets crooks off the street . The stupid man was your friend who you have admitted committed a brutal crime against a human ,not a dog . don't get me wrong the dogs life has worth . It is right that the witness or the guy who punched the dog killer go to the authorities about this matter . It's not a felony that the jerk hurt the dog . its a misdemeanor . This is whats wrong with the world people can't solve problems without fists , knives or guns . Your friend should be responsible , at least for the life of the dog he tried to protect but . ......left behind .

Thats a hard one. I personally would have to tell someone. That kind of info eats away at me. The guy kicking the dog was defineatly wrong and should have been confronted. Im glad the other guy saw what he was doing was wrong but the way he handled it was bad. I can even understand a punch, but it sounds like he did him in. The abuser deserved to be punished, but not killed. (I know he's not dead but you said he could die) Im worried about the guy from school. He obviously feels strongly about what he thinks is right and wrong. You cant handle things this way though. Is everytime he sees an injustice he is going to send the person to the hospital. He needs to learn to control his anger and use it in an effective way, but not dangerous. So I think the police should be told. It is the right thing to do in the end.

She needs to immediately tell the police what she saw! I agree, that the man who was kicking the dog was a sick, twisted, evil individual, but the man who nearly killed him could have taken other, less violent action. Hopefully, a jury will agree that he acted in defense of the puppy who could not defend itself, and his sentence will be lessened, or the case dropped alltogether. The important thing is that if your friend does not tell the authorities what she saw-- she could get charged with a crime! It is against the law to withhold information in a police investigation, she needs to tell someone IMMEDIATELY or risk facing legal consequences!

so a man kicked a dog and another man saw that as reason for him to give the puppy owner a good pasting, well the (suspect) will be going away for that, i just hope for his sake the chap survives.
im not sure a the police will see kicking a dog as good reason to beat someone up.
your friend should tell them what she seen, the man is not a hero he is a thug who needs to mind his own business and inform the animal welfare people

As much as I agree that cruelty against animals is disgusting, I feel strongly that your friend should go to the police RIGHT NOW!!! There's obviously something dangerously wrong with that guy in question to result to such violence and if he's done it once and got away with it, he'll do it again! If the 'victim' dies, we are talking of murder here!!!

If you think death is a suitable punishment for a human kicking a dog then you are truly retarded and disturbed.
Human life is tops, he didnt kill the puppy so why should he die.
The comments on this thread are mental. A puppy is not the same as a baby, its a DOG!

She should tell the police . I do agree the man should not have been kicking the dog that is cruel. But he should not have seriously injured the man.

she should tell the Police because if she doesn't the crime can go unsolved and if the Police get a hint that she knows something about what happened they can and will hold that against her.

She should call the police and tell them every thing if she don't want to give her name then she don't have to or maybe call crime stoppers.
