What makes this relationship so strong and special besides the fact that both countries are English speaking and the majority of the white Americans came from the British Aisles?

Both strive toward principles of liberty,equality, and individualism. Far from perfect, but working toward the goal inspite of repressive societies like China, Iraq, Iran, N Korea, etc...

Well, you just answered your own question. A lot of Americans, were British at one point before America was concieved. Plus, two world wars don't hurt either.
