Yes actually that was my answer "Astronomy for Dummies'', I believe I've seen it too. I know that there is an "Astrology for Dummies'' so there must be one for Astronomy.. Also Astronomy.com I think has a list that you can look at.. Their magazines are very informative. but, I've read all kinds of Astronomy books.. one of my favorites is Reader's Digest- space.. it has an encyclopedia and explains everything.. lots of pictures too. Try Amazon.com and Barnes and Noble.. they have a thing where they list like top 10 astronomy books and stuff. You know though.. you could go to your local library.. remember that before they get any books the have someone at the library check them out. So the books they have, have to be good eh?... Talk with them and see.

I think a good book to start learning about astronomy is 'Night Sky'. I don't know who the author is but it's an oceana book, which is probably some company name. It's very easy to read and it also has information about cosmology, in case your interested.

I would advice you to study on the Internet since Internet has more details, links and most important pictures that describe what most books might not be able to.
Just Google what you need to know !
