Drink a gallon of water a day. Avoid caffeine. Don't touch your face through the day and wash it as soon as you get home and before you go to bed. If you have a pet, wash your hands every time you're done touching the animal. Change your pillowcase at least once a week so your face isn't rubbing in body/hair product grime at night. Use a face scrub in the morning (I like Origins Modern Friction--it kills zits and redness followed up with C.O. Bigelow oil-free moisturizing face gel) When I get home, I wash my face with a gentle face cleanser like Purpose, and before I go to bed, I use a gentle face scrub and then use an alcohol or witch hazel astringent and then an oil-free moisturizer like Clean & Clear's and then spot treat w/ Persa gel from Clean & Clear as necessary. My skin went from crazy to perfect. It took me years to figure out a grouping of products that worked, but there you have it.

Well, you'll just have to wash your face with soap as frequently as you can (don't scrub your face too hard, it's counterproductive to have raw areas on your face). Wash your hands often, too.

If I may say so, though, there is one product that is exceedingly cheap that I urge you to at least try. It's an "on the spot" cream with benzoyl peroxide produced by Neutrogena. Just pick some up at any drug store or grocery store, and put it on two or three times a day after washing your face. It works well for me, and I've heard that for others it works miracles.

PS Don't listen to the people that say "you can't do anything about it". I used to have acne like most people have freckles, and now it's down to the occasional pimple (I use the cream I mentioned, plus an erythromycin benzoyl cream prescription and some aspirin soap) and I don't even really think about it anymore. There is light at the end of the tunnel.

NATURAL ACNE PROTOCOL
1/ Never, ever touch your face.
2/ Use 3 facecloths to wash your face, one to soap on, one to soap off with very hot water, one to rinse off with ice cold water, in that order, once a day.
3/ If you are under 18 take 5,000 IU of vitamin A once a day with a full meal
4/ If you are over 18 take 5,000 IU of vitamin A twice a day with a full meal.
Do not get pregnant while taking vitamin A. Do not take any more, like Accutane, it will stop you growing.
5/ Never, ever. pick, squeeze or pop your spot. Read number 1 again.
6/ Do this for 90 days.
7/ Invest in a brand new pillow and 2 new or more pillow cases to double bag' your pillow. HOT wash every couple of days.

A bit of advice given to me as a teenager, a bit of science as I am studying allergic reactions and vitamin A is a part of that. A bit of research: I sat in a lecture at the back and watched the acne prone pick at their faces, those with the worse acne touched their faces 32 times in an hour, the clearest complexions didn't touch their faces even once. I have circumstantial evidence that acne is the result of dermatophyte transfer from hands to face...where it does not get washed off and is well fed by hormones, sweat a
nd oil...just a hypothesis... But it would explain why vitamin A is so effective as vitamin causes skin to remove dermatophytes.

The secret is never to touch the spots

Tips on how to treat acne and achieve perfect clear skin in as little as 7 days?

Wash your face at least twice a day, when you get up and before going to bed and moisturize with oil free or water based lotion. Wash it three or four times if you have the time. Use little make up, don't use creamy foundation, use oil free face powder insteand. This will help with your acne, but a prescription from a dermatologist would be a lot more helpful.

what causes acne?
hormones
Rebalance these by:
Avoiding stress -- stress causes the over production of hormones
Use relaxation techniques, such as Yoga, T'ai Chi and deep breathing
Avoid caffeine -- caffeine stimulates hormone production
Exercise -- exercise rebalances hormones and reduces stress
Include the hormone balancing food maca in your diet

diet factors
Foods to avoid include:
Dairy products (milk, cheese, cream, yogurt etc)
Refined and cooked carbohydrates (flour, bread, rice, crisps and chips, sugar etc)
Cooked fats (fried food, hydrogenated oils, roasted nuts)
Meat (beef, pork, chicken, lamb etc)
All the above foods are acid-forming in the body. If you really want to get rid of acne, you need to eat more alkaline-forming foods -- fresh vegetables and fruit, nuts (sparingly) and seeds. The foods to avoid listed above also cause a sluggish digestive system. If food travels too slowly through the body, toxins build up and aren't carried away by the usual processes and are expelled via the skin, causing acne.
dehydration
To get rid of acne, the skin needs to be hydrated from the inside to prevent blocked pores -- drink plenty of water and eat plenty of water-rich foods, such as fresh fruit and vegetables. This will also help speed up a sluggish digestive system.

There is no cure for acne, they say it can only be managed, which implies the use of some kind of treatment.

Avoid greasy foods and chocolate. Wash your face really thoroughly with warm water and a soap or cleanser of your choice, rinse with cold. The cold water helps to close the pores. You should wash at least twice daily.

You really can't. All you could do is wash it with soap and water, but that won't do much because it is very deep. I recommend getting some sort of treatment at your local store.

Don't squeeze them, that's bad, it leaves scarring.
