A man's prostate starts to enlarge after the age of 40. The medical term is BPH or benign prostatic hyperplasia. As the gland grows, because it surrounds the urethra (the tube urine passes through to exit the body), it puts pressure on the urethra making it hard for the man to urinate.
Symptoms are:
weak urine stream especially when starting and stopping urine flow
difficulty starting urination
dribbling of urine, especially after urinating
a feeling that your bladder didn't empty
urine leakage
frequent urination
a strong and sudden desire to urinate, especially at night
blood in urine
Doctors like to be conservative when it comes to treatment. They will just monitor the situation because often the symptoms will improve without treatment. For moderate symptoms, medication is started asap. For severe symptoms, surgery is recommended.

Beta Sitosterol and Saw Palmetto are the best natural supplements for the enlarged prostate. I would check with the doctor first to have a prostate exam and blood test just to make sure that it's just and enlarged prostate and nothing more serious such as prostate cancer.
If you're in the clear and it's just an enlarged prostate than the above supplements should cause it to shrink back to normal size.
Read the article below for more information on Benign Prostatic Hypertrophy.

Well there are three main reasons for Prostate Enlargement; Prostate Cancer, Prostititis, and Benign Prostate Hyperplasia (BPH.)
BPH is the enlargement of the prostate gland, the reason for the enlargement is still unknown.
Most Common of enlarged prostate symptoms are:
* Blood in the urine (i.e., hematuria), caused by straining to void
*Dribbling after voiding
*Feeling that the bladder has not emptied completely after urination
*Frequent urination, particularly at night (i.e., nocturia)
*Hesitant, interrupted, or weak urine stream caused by decreased force
*Leakage of urine (i.e., overflow incontinence)
*Pushing or straining to begin urination
*Recurrent, sudden, urgent need to urinate
*localized Pain
If you are having trouble I would suggest consulting a Urologist. BPH commonly affects men 55 years of age or older, however it can affect younger men and prostate cancer should be considered.
To determine if your case is BPH, Prostititis, or Prostate Cancer you would most likely have a Urinalysis, some lab work, and possible some other tests procedures performed.
There are many different treatment options depending on the diagnosis. Some are as simple as watching and monitoring the symptoms, Medications, and then there are some surgical procedures.
Good Luck if I can answer any other question feel free to ask.

The enlargement may be due to a benign swelling, or to a more serious disease. A simple blood test will give you the answer and relieve your concerns. If it is benign there is a drug that helps.
Just see your physician and have the test, it could mean your life.
