Talk to your manager and ask them to tell the people who scare you to stop. It can be considered harassment if they continue after you have asked them not too.

If you like your job, I wouldn't tell on them over something petty like this. They could make you miserable having to work with a bunch of people who are mad at you. Management might think you are a trouble maker for being a tattle tale. Also, don't be too quick to lawyer up, it may affect your ability to find a job in the future. The place my husband works won't hire anyone who has ever filed a workers comp. claim. Totally illegal, but you can't prove that is what they are doing, they make up a reason for not hiring them.

I agree with the seizure answer. Make it the biggest drama ever!!
Freak out and fall down and just lay there barely breathing (don't fake a seizure, I don't think people have seizures from being scared) wait until they splash water on you or let them call 911. The longer and more dramatic, the less likely they are to do it again. If an ambulance comes they'll just check you out, and you tell them you're OK now. NOBODY but you will know you faked it.
They think your reaction is funny, that's why they do it, so give them a reaction that isn't funny.
You have to keep a straight face and stick with it then when you are "better" start a rumor that you have a weak heart and that you have to be careful.
Then maybe they'll stop once they don't think it's a joke.

If this is any consolation you are not the only one.
While in college other students had noticed how jumpy I am and would drop things near me just to see me jump. Who thinks you can control it has no idea what they are talking about.
I think you should move to another office (if you can) and start from scratch. Smile when it happens and after a while they will get bored of doing it.
They might think you are too distant, try being more part of the group.
Anyway don't take it to heart. It's too silly, someday you'll realize that.

By hitting them, you are a part of their game. If I were you, I will talk to office manager first. Make sure you talk to him in professional manner.
If that doesn't stop, you can file a complain with Human Resource Department. Good luck !

Try a jerk reaction and grab your pepper spray, hose em down, if they complain say "What was I supposed to think, only a psycho or rapist would jump out at me from a dark Corner" After a couple times they will stop trying to scare you.

Stick a .357 Mag S&W in their faces; that should do the trick...
Seriously though, you should talk to you bosses about this; if your immediate supervisor does nothing, escalate it it to the stoer/shop manager....
This is assuming, of course, that you are not simply over-reacting to acceptable practical joking around...

Is management aware of your problem with those scaring you? If not, tell them. I don't know if you can file a harassment suit ( (I think you may have to "prove it,") but, it may be something you want to consider. Maybe someone on Answers! can get you better suggestions.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.Mans concept of beauty has been adultered by advertising media, cosmetics, and perverted views of the moneyed strong and mighty.you can be beautiful in your own terms specially if you believe in yourself and not be enslaved by societal standards that prevent you from being the best that you can be.aove all, beauty transcends physical appearance.

I don't know enough about the situation to venture a guess whether talking with your boss will make ti better or worse. I suggest you discuss it with someone you trust.
Good luck. I hope things improve.
