You didn't hurt your sound card but if you deleted the sound driver then you can easily get that back. Easiest way is to go to the Windows update site and it may recognize what driver you need. Good luck.

Well, since you can't 'delete' a sound card, we'll assume it's still there. Taking it out of the machine to store your game software would be more bizarre than I can imagine.
So, you need to determine what sort of sound card is in your machine, and then find the drivers, and reinstall them. If you have the boxes for your stuff around, that would help. Otherwise, you may have to open up the computer, find the sound card, and look for identifying information. If it's a real cheap one, just identifying the main chip, and looking for drivers for that may be the best you can do. If there isn't a separate sound card, it's possibly built into the motherboard. Again, having the original motherboard installation Cd's would be a big help. Otherwise, try to identify the motherboard maker, and hopefully the company is still in business, so you can go to their website, and download the drivers from there.

YOu probably just need to reinstall the sound drivers. FIgure out what kind of sound card you have and go to the manufacturers webpage and download the drivers. If you have an onborad sound chip, go to whomever manufactured your PC's website and get the drivers from there.
