I've heard of infections from wearing thongs, does anyone know how the infection occurs and what the thongs have to do with the infection?

The material of the thong comes into contact with your butt hole, for lack of a better word. The human butt hole is extremely unsanitary and full of bacteria. Sometimes the bacteria that is absorbed by the thong material comes into contact with the vagina, and this is what causes the infection. The best way to avoid this is to be careful when you move the thong to use the bathroom that you put the material back where it was before on your body, and that you don't let the material slide along your butt. And of course never wear a dirty thong, and that includes taking it off for a little while and then putting the same one back on. Always make sure that once you remove a thong you don't put it back on until it has been washed.

the back secretions rub on the front parts and cause a "bad" infection. Thongs run up your but and move around to the front sometimes. Plus thongs usually aren't cotton and so you can't bleach the material to clean the material properly to prevent the onset of another infection.

Fabrics that don't breathe are a perfect home for bacteria and fungi. Thongs go up to the rectal opening. The gut is full of bacteria and they would use the thong as a road to infect the other 2 orafices of the female body

Thongs wont cause infections, it's the material that some are made out of. Fabrics that can't breathe will trap in moisture, which is likely to lead to an infection. Cotton and other breathable materials will be fine.

Use cotton underwear since it will let your skin stay dry and breathe, to avoid yeast infections.
As for bacterial infections, always use warm water and a very mild soap after a bowel movement and pat dry before putting your underwear on. A moist wipe could be a fair substitute when away from home, but always pat dry so moisture does not transfer to the underwear.
Thongs should not cause bacterial infections unless they are contaminated with faeces.

Yeast infection maybe? You can get one from anything though, and not just thongs. Wear cotton underwear to prevent them.

they keep moisture in, they are also rubbing a lot , so its going to usually be a yeast infection, very uncomfortable, get miconizole, and only wear thongs when you are showing your *** off, like with a guy, us girls dont give a hoot about your butt.

Yeast infections? Cotton is the best to prevent those.
Other kinds of material prevent proper ventilation and that could cause it.
