I would suggest you to use GAIM which is preinstalled on it usually.. cause the yahoo messenger fer linux isn't al dat gr8.. its really old nd umm NOT good..
To install download the debian version of the essenger available on the site with the instructions.. given there..
you just gotta tyoe in..
dpkg -i ymessenger_1.0.4_1_i386.deb
as the rootor u could sudo it..
PS: Shift to Ubuntu dude.. its much easier.. and better too.
