Women are more jealous according to a survey done at San Francisco University in 2001. But, the percentage was really too close. I know my wife assures none of these Chinese women get too close to me. She meets her male friends at evening tea. But I am not allowed to meet a female for lunch. I don't argue; I just stay with the program.

Jealousy has no gender bias. Both men and women can be jealous it is just expressed in different forms. When a women is jealous she might do spiteful things towards the person that makes her feel that way. Whereas a man would seem to be over protective. It still comes from the same place in the mind and it really just depends on how secure the individual is within themselves. The more confident and secure a person is with themselves the less time they have to worry about what other people have or are doing.

In general Women are more jealous then Men!...Although I can relate on what The girl above "Whozethere" said: (Jealousy is an ugly creature whether in men or women. Personal observation suggestions it depends more on the individual's self image and trust rather than their sex.) Now that is true to...but me as a 19 yr old female know that females are more jealous when it comes to guys having females friends and when the guy looks at other women. Women are also jealous of other women and you got some women competing and so much more. Now I am not saying all guys don't get jealous but most don't..just like there are some females that are not jealous (including me because I am not the jealous type)..but most females are jealous!!!

Men, I believe but perhaps that is because I am a woman, and I don't feel that I a particularly jealous person. I don't know that it has so much to do with being male or female, so much as it has to do with being secure versus insecure.

Women were more jealous in the ancient civilizations due to the sociological conditions. But in modern civilized societies, there is no relation to jealousy and sex,it is purely individual and varies from person to person.

I'd have to go with the ladies being more jealous. For what ever reason, they seem to be the more insecure.
That's what jealousy is all about, insecurity. She doesn't think she is worthy of him and as soon as he finds someone better, he'll dump her.
It's not only women that feel that way, but I think they are definitely in the majority on that issue.
