It is a lot of weight to gain if you aren't doing anything different. You may try some exercise to be helpful. The usual reason for gaining weight is taking in more calories than you use. So, if you are moving around less, you need to eat less. If this is not a problem in any way, go see your doctor. She/he may be able to tell better with you there. Good luck.

When I was younger I would eat anything I wanted, and I never weighed more than 110 pounds. Then one day I woke up and my clothes didn't fit, and I realized all my years of bad habits were starting to catch up with me. It happens to just about everyone. Americans are notorious for eating poorly and eating too much. Once a person starts to gain weight, the body becomes more and more accustomed to storing fat, which makes you gain weight, which makes you store more fat, which makes you gain weight. It's a vicious cycle. Bottom line is you need to take in fewer calories and move more. The best way to do this is to decrease your portion sizes by 1/3 and do some kind of physical activity for 30 minutes most days of the week. Good luck.

How's your blood pressure. Sometimes water retention can occur with kidney damage as well. I don't know how old you are, or if you have any health complication. Sometimes women have water retention when the menstrual cycle is due. Talk to your Dr, if you don't have health insurance or just can't afford the co-payment at this time go to the health department and get a well women checkup. Hope this helps

I think it might be possible. Water retention maybe? Drink more water and stay away from salt.
