The place in which you want to put the tampon is the vagina.

The rectum, where you poop from, is BEHIND the vagina - it will be difficult to put the tampon in there, and you'll know right away you're in the wrong place.

The urethra, where you pee from, is ABOVE the main hole of the vagina. It is still within the bigger lips (labia majora) at the entrance to the vagina, but it is above/in front of the main opening. It's small and you won't be able to put your finger into it. There is no way you'll manage to push a tampon into the urethra - don't worry.

So, that leaves one place to put the tampon. You might experience a little resistance when you put it in. Go slowly and gently. MAKE SURE TO LEAVE THE STRING OUTSIDE so you can recover it.

Do not leave the tampon in more than 4-6 hours. Bacteria can grow on the tampon and cause life-threatening infection ("toxic shock syndrome") if left inside too long. This rule is regardless of how much blood flow you're having.

Make sure to read the instructions on the box, and you'll be fine. You can always have your mom, sister or doctor help - they know about this.

You put them in the same hole you pee out of,the main one..... it doesnt block your pee from coming out though, its sounds gross but when you go potty, the pee just comes out around it,you may have to change your tampon....if you want..the string does get wet and you just dab yourself dry, its pretty gross but its better than dealing with pads...always have extra tampons on you, when you go #2 you usually end up pushing the tampon out a little bit so you need to change it or you'll leak, and you never know if you go pee and it slips down a little bit..you'll wanna change it,dont wear them too long, even if its not needed dont keep it in for more than like 4 hours you could get an infection called toxic shock syndrom...its also mentioned on the back of most boxes of tampons, follow the diagram on the box,its gonna tell you to hold the end of the tampon (the end that has the plunger thing),push it up inside of you, when your fingers where your holding the plastic part touch your vagina then push the little plastic plunger up and then pull the plastic applicator out,if its in right then you shouldnt be able to feel it much,if it really bothers you and you feel like its half way out then its not in right....do exactly what the box says and it'll all work out.

you wont block yourself from peeing. dont worry about that. just push it straight up.... its kinda hard to explain i mean youll know when its up far enuff or not cuz you can still feel it if its not. when they're in you wont feel a thing. another thing dont be embarrassed to figure it out yourself by like exploring your body and what not. when i was your age i was scared too. its totally normal dont worry. you'll get the hang of it and will never wanna go back to pad they feel like diapers now lol good luck

There NO way you'll get it in your wee!

Look at the diagram on the instructions it shows you what it looks like and there's only one whole big enough.

There is no way you could ever possibly fit it in your "wee" take a mirror and look down there. that will explain a lot.

If in question, block both holes. When peeing, remove it temporarily.

urine flows through the urethra, not the vaginal opening. You may be too young for that, so talk to your mom/sister/friends before you do that.

You have three holes down there. Vagina hole, butt hole, and pee hole.I know you won't put it in your butt hole and it will not fit in your pee hole. So try the other one.
