There's a little open space in the piece that holds the lightbulb for my outdoor light. Frogs have always liked sitting in there whether the light is on or off. Sometimes there will be about five frogs in there, which means they are all sitting on each other. What's the appeal? It's not the light itself because in all of their climbing in they twisted the bulb out and it smashed to the ground.

The light attracts bugs.
Frogs see all the bugs and think "Buffet!".

Either that, or they want you to kiss them and urn them into princes.

The frogs are waiting for the bugs which gather around the light. Smart frogs!

I observed the same thing around my house where the frogs will hangout by the lights waiting for a meal. Unfortunately, they ended up being a meal for me.

they all got a brilliant idea at the same time and needed a light bulb over their little heads. seriously I would go with the bug thing everyone has mentioned
