I'm searching for an over-sized hand bag (hobo, messenger..etc.) to carry books for school. It should be big enough to carry at least 2 to 3 heavy books. My limit budget wise is $300 and under.

I just saw some cool designs at www.spainstudio.com . They have links to a couple of their shops.
If you don't like any designs that they have, one of the shops has a pink banner at the bottom. Click it and it will take you to a larger marketplace where you can type in what kind of design you're looking for and it will show you several designs.
I think you can even customize your own bag there.

Hobo is an upscale brand of handbags that makes very high quality bags. Their Urban Oxide line is made out of recycled tires so it is really durable. It has a bubble texture to it. The Urban Oxide Gramercy bag makes a perfect school bag. The strap is udjustable so you can wear it across or over your shoulder. I know a couple girls who use these for their bookbag for college. DEFINITELY go to delias.com. They have great clothing and accessories, and most of their bags are $40 and under. They have gorgeous, inexpensive, and original-looking bags. :)
