You go to the OBGYN ASAP. You tell them the situation. They work you up and check you out.
You could develop Toxic Shock syndrome, and sepsis.
Besides just a regular infection.
Go in and get treated.

toxic shock syndrome is only if you use super tampons when you dont really need them. it is caused by there not being enough fluid for the tampon to soak up. You probably do not have this so dont listen to the people who told you that. did you take it out? just look for signs of an infection, and if everything is normal, then dont worry about it. just remember to never forget about a tampon.

You could have developed a serious infection or toxic shock syndrome. Best to get to your doctor to get a pap so that you can rule out any infections or get treatment if you have one. Risks to doing that? You can also get pelvic inflammatory disease which may render you infertile if the toxic shock doesnt kill you. Read the insert in the tampon box.

Actually, if she had TSS, she'd be dead by now.
First, remove the tampon.
Second, go to the doctor to make certain that there are no secondary infections.
Third, switch to pads since you can't remember to remove tampons and you could now harbor the bacteria that does actually cause toxic shock syndrome.

OMG i know a chick who left one in for 4months
omg that was so gross
she went to the doc to get it removed and got some antiboitics just in case

I dont know how in the hell you didnt know you had a tampon in. You can feel it when it gets wet inside you and it swells. Go to the doctor you could have TSS, and many sorts of infections.
