You are only in REAL labor when the contractions are consistent - meaning the same exact number of minutes apart each time. If the contractions are sporatic its not real labor yet - but you are warming up. Watch the clock and write down the time each contraction begins and ends, when you see CONSISTENCY - you're on your way!

These sound like Braxton-Hicks contractions, at this point in the pregnancy would be normal. When the contractions, are 5 minutes apart, and regular, then I would begin to say, "Oh it is time to be seen by the obstretican, nurse mid-wife,...." whatever you may be using as I know there are other options available then a birth, in the hospital. Believe me, before you know it, all of these symptoms, and it isn't easy at all, will end and the pregnancy will be over and the baby will be here, then a new life begins.............congrats and best of everything!!!

Drink a LOT of water. It sounds to me that you're dehydrated, which is the #1 reason women go into premature labor. Take it easy and drink, drink, drink. If you are still having problems after a few hours of pounding the water, I'd suggest calling your OB and let her know what's going on. True labor is any contraction that causes cervical changes (dilation), so unless you know how to check for that, you won't really know until you're examined. Good luck!

It could, but it sounds more like you just need to drink something (like orange juice) and lay down for a while. If it is labor you want to be well rested! Good luck, but just in case it's not be patient, it will happen soon enough. I remember hoping the same thing you are now and now my baby is 5 1/2 months old. It seems like I was just pregnant. Good luck!

Yes you probably are. They may be braxton hicks contractions also. If your uncertain ya might wanna check at the hospital. Back ache is often a sign of labor though. Good luck

it is very possible, or it could also be braxtin-hicks contractions, which if i remember right is a false labor, you may want to go get checked just to make sure. if the contractions are spuratic, than, i dont think tht you would be having the baby anytime soon though, even if it is the real thing,

It is possible... If the pain gets harder and harder please go to your hospital and get checked. You'll know when it's hard enough when you have to take deep breaths just to last through a contraction
Also dehydration sometimes causes contractions, drink plenty of water to see if teh contractions stop.

Congrat's to you! Remember your breathing and focus on 'your own zone'....Better get your bag in the car, and do any last minute things, if you're able!
Let us know how you do...best of luck to you and babe.
