They never had a #1 hit until "I Don't Want To Miss A Thing" hit off of the Armegeddon soundtrack.

"I Don't Want to Miss a Thing" topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart for the week of September 5, 1998 - the very first time that an Aerosmith song had reached the top spot on the chart. The song held onto the #1 spot for 4 weeks, and was eventually replaced by "The First Night", a song by the artist Monica.
To date "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing" is the only Aerosmith song to have reached the top of the chart - as you probably know, the last few years have seen charts dominated by artists like 50 Cent, Chris Brown, Usher, Mariah Carey and other urban sound artists.
For those who mentioned songs like "Sweet Emotion" and "Walk this Way", I think the idea here is to have actual information, rather than naming your favorite Aerosmith song.
Sweet Emotion barely slipped into the Top 40, reaching only as high as #36 in 1975, while Walk This Way was Aerosmith's second Top 10 hit, reaching #10 early in 1977. Before "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing", the highest charting Aerosmith song had been 1988's "Angel".
