i have tried baths, pills like elavil and rozerem, relaxing, counting sheep, and numbers. Even when I am yawning evry 5 seconds, and I have tears running down my face, it takes me like 2-4 hours to fall asleep, no matter how tired I am, And then, once I do fall asleep, I can't wake up for anything!!!

Sounds like you're allowing yourself to get too tired. It is important to establish a routine. If you try to eat at approximately the same time every day, and go to bed at a reasonable hour (same time) every night, you will psych yourself into readiness to fall asleep. Forget the pills. Exercise, but not within three hours of bedtime. Stay out of the bedroom until you are ready to go to bed - again - to psych yourself. If you are constructively tired, you will sleep. If you get overtired, you will feel "wired" and you will not.

Go to the sleep specialist, the neurologist with the specialty and let them do a sleep study to see what's going on. They have a million tricks in their bag to fix these problems.
Good luck.

taking calcium and magnesium about an hour before bed really helps. I use a liquid one that has both in it. Got it at the health food store.

Ask your doctor to put you on Seroquel, it's a prescription sleep aid that works wonders. You have a serious problem, and it sounds like you probably need prescription medication.

Pick up a Bible and begin to read it. You will see how sleepy you get as soon as you begin to get into the meat of it.
