After looking through some of the Q and A's in the GLBT section I have to ask...Why are so many "straight"

people in this section if all you have to say is hateful comments? If you're in the gay section, you're obviously interested in the gay issues...maybe that what you're bashing is what you secretly want to be....wonder how many mean posts im gonna get off this one.

I know from personal experience...that in many cases... a persons hatred/rage twords homosexuals...gay or lesbian... often go deeper then just disagreeing with them... before i accepted the fact i was gay... I hated gay people... i was very angry and abusive to gay folks... what it all boiled down to was the fact I knew i was gay and fighting sooo hard not to be myself... and I unconsciously hated gay folks because they were doing what i didnt have the balls to do.... be who they really are... not hide behind a fake identity and be honest...

so often when i see a flaming hateful comment to a post... it reminds me of myself... before accepting I myself was gay and allowing myself to be ok with it... so im willing to bet alot of the gay bashers around will eventually if they cant keep themselves in extreme denial will ultimately accept the fact that they may be gay themselves

Take a gander at the religion section and count the number of rabid atheists in there. I'm in the LGBT section because I belong here and I'm in the religion section because I think there is important work to be done (the global destruction of religion! yeeeeah! and note to straight people here: most gays are -not- with me on this).

But yeah. Most of the straights here are here either to bash or out of the hope that they can "help" us (we know it's misguided, but at least they don't hate us).

Good Comments. Also would like to add that all the BIBLE THUMPERS always talk about procreation. But let me as this if God told them they must Procreate then why are ther priest not allowed to and there the leaders of the church. So they dont even practice what they preach. Funny isnt it they dont even have a clue themselfs.

People are becoming more intelligent and educated and realize that homosexual relationships are a part of nature and every animal species has a portion of its population naturally born gay.
People will continue to bash or make fun and they are starting to make themselves look foolish. Just like the high school bully goes on to waste his life and work under the nerds he teased.

Homophobics are often closet homosexuals. Although some of them truly believe that God is sending them messages through their secret decoder rings that they got in their cereal. If they tell us this message we will all be saved. They haven't figured out that God doesn't judge us and doesn't give them the right to judge.

I KNOW grrl! What's up with that? Perhaps one of the reasons they do that is... since the internet is anonymous... they (homophobes) can say whatever they want (ie, attack us) and even if we defend ourselves, we don't know them and they don't know us. And like what u said, they might be in denial of being gay/lesbians themselves so they hide in their snarky comments here and pretend to be straight. Heh. ;o)

My post isn't mean...but it's true..I think a lot of people out there have their own issues with homosexuality and they come here out of curiosity or just to vent...I agree with you.
