Visit a children's hospital, talk with the people there, find out what interest you have and then see how what your passion is can fit into what the needs of the field are. I have added a site below that will help you in a career assessment. I have heard good things about it. Medial is not the only place to work with kids, but what a great place. If you have the grades and the desire, GO FOR IT.
Good luck!!!!!!!!!!

I worked in a primary school for years, and we had different kinds of therapists who came and worked with kids there: physical, occupational, speech, and so on. The people I knew who did this were very happy and satisfied with their jobs, and enjoyed them.
