Hmmm...good question. I don't think it really affects it one way or the other. We were hated long before we got involved in the middle east and we will be hated for a long time to come. If we eliminate the threat from one direction (as we are doing right now) then a threat is just going to come from another direction. Oppressive governments and organizations (like terrorists) see a country with a strong economy, freedom and an educated populace as a threat. And I don't think the middle eastern hatred of the US would suddenly cease should we stop supporting Israel.

Sadly to say, it is causing a damn side more harm than good!

As long as the United States is seen to be choosing one side against the other in the crisis (for example, siding with Israel) then there will be a greater threat from the other sides.

How would you feel for example, if you were a Lebanese citizen, and an Israeli bomb killed one of your kids? You would obviously hate the Israelis for what they’d done, and no doubt, wish for revenge! If you heard the United States saying that Israel was justified for what they were doing, remembering that your kid has just been killed, you’d be pretty P’d off with the United States!

As much as I hate to say it, the US action of siding with Israel, is going to increase the risk of terrorist attacks against the United States! I wish that wasn’t the case!!!

All I really know is that what we are doing is the right thing to be doing just like it says in the 3rd verse of our national anthem
" And conquer we must, when our cause it is just " . Our cause IS just and believe it or not we are making a difference in the world.

Well, that's a really good question! I am inclined to think that MAYBE we are a "tad" safer just for now, since the Middle Eastern people are "busy" killing each other....but after that, who knows?

I think it hurts us as we are seen as allies of Israel. Also, Hezbollah may try to hit Jewish institutions in the USA...
