"Arab" is a cultural term that refers to a person who has cultural/ethnic ties to the original nomadic, arabic people of the Arabian peninsula. Only about 4% of those who call themselves arabs today are genetically related to what we might call the original arabs. The original nomadic arabs were a olive-skinned (but not black) semetic, caucasian people related to the Jews. A lot of the people that the arab armies conquered took on the culture of their conquerors, and that is why you see so many "arabs" today, spread across North Africa and into Iraq. Most are moslems but some are christians. Virtually all use arabic as their native language. So once again, "race" has little to do with being an arab; culture (including language) is the overriding factor. Moslem blacks in the Sudan actually refer to themselves as "arab" when they are of the ***** Race. A Lebanese person may be a genetic mixture of phonecian, greek, roman, arab, European, and even hebrew blood, but he or she still usualy refers to himself or herself as an arab, whether his or her religion is moslem or christian.

As far as scientific categories go, there are three races of men: Caucasian, *******, and Oriental (alphabetical order so I don't offend anyone). With the advent of the crusades and other conquerors, the area around the med became something of a melting pot, with all the races intermingling. I would suspect you'd have to run a DNA analysis to even get close to an answer to your question.

I understand your curiousity! I am curious about people as well. Everything about everyone.
I think, they are considered caucasion. From most of what I've read .. that's the general concensus.

races do not exist as far as your question (it's the human race if anything) they are called ethnicities; and caucasian means from the Caucasus (Russia) also an incorrect terminology for "white"... an Arab is Mediterranean (could be white or olive skin color) and besides, it's all in the head - whatever that Arab considers him or herself, he or she is

There is no such thing as "race" we are all human. Race is a cultural convention made up by humans to make it easy for them to categorize each other. Eventually we will be so homogenized that "race" will be a moot point...it truly will not exist. If we survive that long.
IGNORE THE "SCIENTIFIC" CATEGORIES "*******" "CAUCASIAN" "ORIENTAL"...THEY ARE STRAIGHT OUT OF THE KKK/ARIAN BROTHERHOOD MANUAL.
