We don't talk about this anymore, but the first computer ever was not even digital. There was such thing as ANALOG computer. It had whole bunch of knobs and circuits, and you programmed it by plugging wires everywhere to make the right connections. It was used by military to calculate the path of missile's.

The first digital computer was called ENIAC. You can search the web with this name and find more than you need.

First micro computer chip ever invented was called 4004 and Intel was the manufacturer. It was followed by 4040, 8008, then 8080. Initially, it was not much more than programmable calculator. Generally, 8080 is thought to be the first usable "computer."

WHO invented depends on what you consider the first computer, as I explained above. I would suggest starting from ENIAC as it is the first digital computer. It was invented by the US Army. I've never seen any individual credited for its creation.

Blaise Pascal made one of the first 'calculating engines'.

Conrad Zuse made the first programmable computer. This was in Germany in world war 2. Strange as it may seem to us now, it was mostly mechanical, not electronic. But it was programmable and it did calculations.

The Babylonians (Iraq) invented it centuries ago. It was called the abacus. However, the fellow who was really on to what we nowadays call a computer, was named Charles Babbage.
